They stop the manager of a crop of Moguer (Huelva) accused of sexual abuse to workers

Agents of the National Police of Huelva have arrested a man of 47 years of age after the complaint of several immigrant women workers of the strawberry in Moguer (Huelva) for alleged sexual abuse and coercion.

Police sources have informed Efe that the detainee is in charge of the field in which the women work, whose direct job is to supervise the employees and coordinate the shifts.

The complaint was filed by immigrant women who pointed to him as the alleged perpetrator of the abuses he was accused of. The detainee testified in the Moguer court and has been released on charges.

In recent years there have been repeated reports of massive cases of labor and sexual exploitation in the strawberry fields of Huelva, although until now no investigation has been opened beyond the isolated reports that were recorded. In recent months, these public complaints have intensified, to the point that from Interfresa they denounce a campaign of discredit behind which competitors from other countries would be, according to EL MUNDO journalist Chema Rodríguez.
