The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) foresees for this Sunday locally strong and / or persistent rainfall in Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Catalonia and the Central System and strong waves of up to 6 meters on the coast of all the northern provinces. This is due to a cyclogenesis that will generate low pressures that will bring rain, cold, wind and intense waves to much of Spain for several days.
Specifically, the Aemet points out in its prediction that in large areas of the Mediterranean area, the southwest third of the peninsula and the Central System will intensify instability and precipitation . They will be locally strong, persistent and occasionally stormy in the west and south of Andalusia, Catalonia, the Community of Valencia and surroundings of the Sierra Madrileña. They may be punctually very strong in Andalusia, Castellón and Gerona.
Throughout the day they are likely to spread to much of the rest of the peninsula, although in a weaker and more dispersed way the further north and northwest. In the Canary Islands, rains and showers are expected in the north of the islands and, with low probability and in a weaker and more dispersed form, in the south.
The level of snow in the Pyrenees will be 1,300 / 1,500 meters; in the Iberian System it will go down to about 1,500 / 1,700 meters and in the Central and the Cantabrian Mountains up to 1,600 / 1,800 at the end of the day.
