The shops in the areas of great tourist influx (ZGAT) reopen this Sunday, April 1, dates in which they expect to obtain a “large volume of purchases for both the consumption of these days of vacation, and purchases of equipment for the second residences “.
This was stated by the spokesman of the National Association of Large Distribution Companies (Anged) in the Region of Valencia, Joaquín Cerveró , in a statement in which he stressed that last Sunday, March 25, became the fourth day of the month with the most sales in the Valencian supermarkets, which received nearly 800,000 visits.
According to Anged, in these days the expense of tourists is multiplied, and although the annual average is 35 euros per day of spending of each tourist in commercial products, in Holy Week the figure approaches 60 euros in the Valencian Community.
In addition, “the Valencian Community leads in Spain the growth of coastal tourism and in our tourist market is growing significantly the share of foreign tourism of high purchasing power”, underlined Cerveró. So much so that “Sundays and holidays have become one of the three most important days in sales of the week,” he concluded.
